Barn conversion

Client purchased derelict barn to transform in to permanent home for them and their young family together with timber framed accommodation building in the grounds for them to live in during the barn renovation/conversion and later as accommodation for friends when they came to visit.

We started with the soil tests / design of new drainage system to serve both the barn and the guest building. The authorities required the installation of a traditional system and would not allow the run off to exit the property boundary so an additional mere had to be designed to deal with this aspect. These days a micro station/compact filter would be proposed as the best solution.

With the acquisition of the permission to install the drainage and the permis de construire our involvement in this project came to an end as the client planned to undertake the works and supervision themselves.
