Complete renovation
This particular house can be called a complete renovation in every sense of the word.
The client did not live in France and requested a complete design build/renovation package right down to the white goods being in the house when she collected the key.
This is of course a very collaborative process between ourselves, the builder / trades people and the client, it takes careful planning and coordination.
As you will see from the pictures the only part of the house left standing after we had striped it out were the walls and old staircase. Roof came off, walls came down, floors came up and revealed some nasty surprises – dry rot amongst others.
The external rendering was sand blasted to remove many years of road grime. The staircase was also given the same treatment to return it to the paler colour of the natural wood.
The roof timbers where rotten and had to be replaced, which also allowed us to re model the structure to create a master ensuite bedroom on the top floor to take advantage of the extensive views across the valley below.
The rest of the house now consists of two further bedrooms on the first floor with a fully fitted family bathroom, the ground floor consists of a living space, another bedroom with ensuite, utility room and separate toilet together with a large kitchen dining space with access to an outside terrace eating area.
All electrics and plumbing were replaced with systems that comply with the latest regulations and ensure the comfort of the occupants.
The project was completed on time and is now a much enjoyed holiday home that will also be let out for periods of the year so that others can enjoy the local amenities and water sports.
